What VPN?

NordVPN

L2TP/IPSec is being dropped by Dec 2018. I wanted to configure my router directly to use NordVPN, but was not possible. Didn't work.

Conclusion: waste of time

Paid for 3 year upfront. I hope they refund me.

PureVPN

Tried the 3 day trial for $2.50. Tried to get my router to connect with the very basic, unsafe, PPTP. Didn't work at all. No connection. Tried fancier options, no dice. Perhaps the trial, doesn't actually let you try this.

Conclusion: Waste of $2.50  & time.

Been with these for a couple of years. Tried to renew and was forced to pay via bitpay, which now has a block preventing payments via a VPN. So couldn't pay.

Turns out you can just start over from the front webpage and create a new account and pay with bitcoin directly.

2 year deal is $2.91/month. Supports (currently) L2TP/IPSec. 

Conclusion: suffering this.

You can dynamically create a temporary account from their website that works for a few hours to test.

Appears to need their own app or OpenVPN. Failed me.

Conclusion: ignore it.
