CiF vs Basic Cream Cleaner

Which is better? Are they really any different?

Both have <5% active ingredient, but then so does water! But actually, it's not about fancy ingredients; both are meant to be a micro-abrasive cream, like chalk powders in a liquid paste, and in that respect both seem almost totally identical. The famous "micro crystals" boasted by Cif is simply a reference to this fact.

Both cleaned my bathroom taps well and neither managed to shift the limescale from the sink (use sandpaper!).

Conclusion: Basic cream cleaner for 50p is almost indistinguishable from CiF at £2.
